The day of my event started out ok. About half way through the event I was told I should start cleaning up because the gentleman "wanted to go home". People were still sitting at their tables and I had the venue contractually for another hour and a half. Apparently they include clean up time in the party time. So I guess you should be taking tablecloths off as people are still sitting down. That's crazy. The manager became rude and unprofessional. Started yelling at my family that was helping me. Just turned out to be a horrible experience. We paid good money for a service that was poorly given. I was trying to lighten the mood and jokingly said to one of the servers "smile Jesus loves you", and he responded "that's not my style". Just a terrible experience. I felt like they were nice initially to get our money then their true colors came out. We were dissatisfied so we emailed the board and a member called us back. When we explained our experience, it felt like his response was to defend the manager's terrible behavior instead of provide customer service and an apology. No wonder the manager feels he can behave this way. Its unfortunate because it really is a nice venue (a little old but it gives it character) but I will never do business there again as long as they have that staff. And I'm an event planner so that's a lot of lost business on their end. Just a shame!
Pleasant site for family events.
At first it was great! They were nice and communicative. Then, little things kept coming up...Like they would mention btw this cant happen or btw this has to be done...etc.
A "losing bet" - this venue is old and in desperate need of renovation, having a musty smell, with old furniture and dingy worn carpeting - there is a kitchen, but no catering services - they provide nothing but the room, and charge separately for linens, glasses and utensils through an outside rental company - it is now a small private tennis club, with the "banquet" facilities being run as an 'afterthought' by 'non-professional' members (and it shows) to generate $$ for their operating expenses - I met with the "manager" for over an hour, and was given a rate for the room & alchohol for our Reunion event - - after we had already sent out the invitations and were committed, they sent me a contract where they 'bait & switched' the rate I was given by DOUBLING the cost with exhorbitant separate charges for 'servers' ($300 each for 4 hours), which was never mentioned or discussed !! Thankfully, we were able to find an alternate venue last minute, and canceled - - if you are thinking of holding an event here...DON'T!
Very old and one of the prominent Casino Club
I have been playing tennis at the club for 20 years. The courts are spectacular and the people are 1st rate. I highly recommend anyone to join for the tennis and lifelong friendships.
